Daniel Hedlund will talk about the relevance of continuing to examine how the Swedish state and its authorities respond to asylum seekers both at policy and implementation levels. An example presented in relation to this will be a forthcoming article co-authored with Thomas Wimark about the sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) refugee claims of unaccompanied children in Sweden.

Daniel Hedlund is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Child and Youth Studies. His research interests lie in the political, institutional and legal contexts that influence Swedish asylum policy and reception, in particular concerning unaccompanied minors.
